Well prepared for endoscopy – even at a high pace
Before a colonoscopy or gastroscopy, every patient needs patient education on the examination and sedation, often as an outpatient and at a high pace. medudoc combines both in one patient education video and one consent sheet. Guidance on medication and fasting accompanies patients up to the day of the examination.
Endoscopy and sedation
Examination and sedation in one process
Colonoscopy and gastroscopy are frequently performed with sedation, often as outpatient procedures and at a high pace. medudoc prepares both together – in the video, in the sheet and in the case.
One video for examination and sedation
medudoc assembles the personalised patient education video from short sequences. If sedation is planned, the video explains it in the same sequence.
A sheet that knows the procedure
The consent sheet adapts to the indication, to sedation or brief general anaesthesia and to planned polypectomy. Physicians add annotations before signature.
Individual or combined
Colonoscopy, oesophagogastroduodenoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and combined gastroscopy and colonoscopy each have a dedicated sheet.
Dedicated versions for outpatient examinations
Dedicated consent sheets are available for outpatient endoscopy. Your department decides per procedure whether it is outpatient or inpatient.
Preparation
From invitation to the day of the examination
For endoscopy, preparation is crucial. medudoc accompanies patients digitally from the invitation to the day of the examination.
1. Invitation without an app
Patients start via QR code, a link on your website or an invitation with the appointment confirmation – no app, no new password.
2. Digital medical history at home
Each examination has its own questionnaire. Patients record medication by photographing the package or their medication plan.
3. Video and sheet in advance
Patients calmly watch the patient education video, read the consent sheet and mark questions for the consent discussion.
4. Discussion and signature
The consent discussion takes place on site or by telemedicine. Afterwards, patients sign electronically.
5. Guidance up to the day of the examination
In the patient portal, patients receive guidance on pausing medication and fasting, with reminders by email or text message.
On the day of the examination, the consent sheet, consent trail and medical history are available in one PDF/A.
On site or by telemedicine
The consent discussion where it fits
The physician decides, depending on the procedure and risk profile, whether a telemedical consent discussion is sufficient. Both paths start with the same preparation at home.
