Patient education on the dialysis shunt, aligned with anaesthesia
A dialysis shunt is created, revised or ligated – under local anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia or general anaesthesia. medudoc combines the consent sheet for the shunt with the appropriate anaesthesia consent sheet in one document. Patients prepare at home in advance.
Before the procedure
From the questionnaire to the surgery preparation plan
Patients on dialysis already have many fixed appointments. medudoc moves preparation for the shunt procedure to the patient’s home – no app, on any device, in 23 languages.
1. Access via link or QR code
Patients receive access via a link on the hospital website, a QR code on the leaflet or with the appointment confirmation.
2. Medical history with medication
They enter pre-existing conditions, allergies and medications once for surgery and anaesthesia. Anticoagulants appear in the HCP Dashboard with the preoperative recommendations of the specialist societies.
3. One document for shunt and anaesthesia
The consent sheet for the shunt and the consent sheet for the anaesthesia technique are combined in one bilingual document. Physicians add annotations before signature.
4. Discussion and signature
The consent discussion takes place on site or telemedically. Whether a telemedical consent discussion is sufficient is decided by the physician, depending on the procedure and risk profile.
5. Surgery preparation plan
After approval, patients receive their plan with appointment, medication pauses and fasting rules, plus reminders by email or text message.
The result is one PDF/A with consent sheet, consent trail and medical history – archived in an audit-proof manner.
