Well prepared for anaesthesia – together with the parents
Before a child’s anaesthesia, the parents give consent as legal representatives. medudoc prepares them at home with a digital medical history, patient education video and consent sheet. After approval, they receive the surgery preparation plan with the fasting rules for their child.
Workflow for parents
What parents complete at home before their child’s anaesthesia
Parents accompany every step. medudoc guides them through medical history, patient education and signature – in the browser, no app, no new password.
1. Access via QR code or link
Parents start via the QR code on the leaflet, the link on the hospital website or the invitation sent with the appointment confirmation.
2. Medical history for the child
Parents enter their child’s pre-existing conditions, medications and allergies and upload existing medical reports.
3. Patient education video at home
Parents watch the personalised patient education video at their own pace, together with their child if they wish. They mark questions for the consent discussion.
4. Consent discussion
The discussion takes place on site or telemedically. Whether a telemedical consent discussion is sufficient is decided by the physician, depending on the procedure and risk profile.
5. Consent as legal representatives
Parents sign the consent for their child electronically – in the browser or on a signature pad.
After approval, parents receive the surgery preparation plan with appointment and fasting rules, with reminders by email or text message.
Consent sheets
Patient education content for paediatric anaesthesia
medudoc’s medical editorial team creates consent sheets and patient education videos for paediatric anaesthesia and reviews them at least once a year. Parents receive the consent sheet in two languages, with the German original.
